Considering the only 2 options above and the criterion mentioned, IIT, BHU mechanical engineering is a better option, but you need to understand that the mechanical department needs dedication and if you want a life where you do not study for four years and roam around, sorry then it's not for you.
Research Resources: Mechanical at BHU, in particular, is into practical application and if you actually show interest, there is no limit to what you can achieve.
