Which is a better option: LPU or Jain University for civil engineering?

Both the universities are doing good, but there is one university far ahead of these universities, and that's LPU. LPU has its student organisation known as &quot;bridge, &quot; which conducts various events and competitions to bring forth creativity and to award the best engineer in the making. LPU is better than Jain University. As LPU is established earlier and relatively better in terms of campus exposure and placements. For civil department, both the universities are struggling as the core jobs are tough through campus placements in core domain. Though, you can find more no. Of non - core Jobs at LPU.

I can only tell you how is ECE at LPU and when you ask how good it is, it totally depends on you how you pursue it. Firstly ECE is one such stream where you have combination of CSE, EE and EEE courses too. You will be thought basic electrics and electronics in your first year and later in second year core subjects come in. We do have a good lab facility. But I won't tell you that everyone learn from those labs. Because ultimately it students' duty to learn things. Next there clubs in ECE department which help you in doing some kind of projects of implementing your ideas etc. I don't say all the faculty members in the department are best but there are a lot many good faculty who you can take guidance from. There some live projects that university itself working on it. You can join them by consulting your HOS or HOD. If you don't know ECE is one such stream where you need to have clear concepts both practically and theoretically. What I suggest is learn as much as you can from projects you come across. In some courses you would be asked to make mini projects too. Apart from this there would be school competitions in specific courses like in METLAB or Verilog or VHDL etc. Apart from these ECE courses you are thought C, C+ and DBMS etc. Which are basic requirements of today's engineering if you wish to grab a IT job. Taking about placements, there is no hiding that India have less ratio of ECE companies or companies with requirement of ECE graduates. Digital Logic Designing, chip manufacturing, VLSI domain have a good number of jobs if you have expertise in that. Here at LPU you have few companies that come for ECE profile only. They might not give happy package but they can give the job you love. You can sit in placements for IT companies in which you can get good amount of packages. So little hard work off the academics would help you in that. After all it's you who can plan how to you make your career, just plan and work on it.
