Which is a better option: pursuing regular MCA or pursuing MCA through correspondence?

In short I will say to go for Regular course as correspondence courses has no much value in Indian MNcs what i mean to say is they do not prefer candidate of correspondence course background.

as you said you are in IT firm and wants to pursue MCA.
if you are financially sound i would suggest you to pursue in regular mode from reputed institute so that you will be focus towards your studies, but if you think you don't wanna give financial burden on your parents i would suggest to you go for distance education. which will not only allows you to pursue masters as well as it will give you professional experience too.

Kavita there is not a big different between distance & regular education.Today ,education is the only source to make money.In India universities affiliated by UGC can provide the regular study in the state or given area,if they provide the degree.Out side the state then it is called distence mode degree.For this they have to get affiliation from Distance Education Council(DEC).Most of the working people like you,prefer distance mode.But the only think is that you should choose a university which offers distance education has UGC,AICTE,and DEC recognition for its course.Distance learning program in India are yet to get a significant visibility in India and add little value if you are not a govt / psu employee as for them, they get one additional increment.but for people who are in private sector,apart from some knowledge gain,distance learning MBA program give little benefit as it has no placement program or low peer interaction and hence poor networking opportunity
As per the latest rule prepared for the eligibility for taking Admission in MCA is that your age should not be above 21 years.Although this rule is basically prepared and followed by the Deemed universities and autonomous colleges which offers MCA .However there are still a chance for you to take admission in top colleges for MCA even if you are of above 21 years.
Some of them are:-
JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY,NEW DELHI.
BENARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY,VARANASI.
ISLAMIA MUSLIM UNIVERSITY.
KALINGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,ORISSA.
ACHARYA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,BANGALORE.
JIWAJI UNIVERSITY ,GWALIOR.
These are the above listed universities/colleges in which you will able to take admission in MCA even if you are above 21 years.
But for this you will have to appear for the Entrance exam conducted by these universities/Institutions and you will have to score good marks in order to get pass in this exam.The software companies mostly hire freshers whose age should not exceed above 28 years,so you will be eligible for getting jobs in Software companies.
