Which is a better sector to work for after a course in hospitality and tourism: government or private?

Please share details on basis of salary,no. of vacancies, perks, etc

    Hi,
    Unfortunately, government sector doesn't offer many opportunities to hospitality management graduates. In the government sector, you can Join Central Government and State Government IHMs as a faculty and work in central and State Tourism departments.
    Private sector which is dominated by hotel companies, travel agencies and Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) offer immense opportunities to hospitality and tourism graduates.
    After completion of BHM degree, one can get a job as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor in a 5-star hotel, Assistant Manager, Executive in Travel Agency or a store manager in QSRs.

    If you get scope in government sector, then go for it. Otherwise, private sector has job opportunities.

    Career options are available for hospitality and tourism management graduates in both government or private sectors:
    Heritage Interpreter
    Travel consultant
    Food and Beverage Manager
    Spa director
    Travel writer/photographer (my personal favorite )
    Tourism researcher (still trying to figure this one out)
    Tour Operator
    Retail Supervisor
    Accommodation Service Manager/Rooms Division Manager
