Speaking is probably the biggest difference between the two tests. In IELTS you'll talk to a real person while in TOEFL you'll talk to a computer.

It varies from person to person. Some find it strange to talk to a computer while the people who are shy type are comfortable in talking to a computer. So, it depends totally on you.

Nothing is easy or hard. It depends on your caliber. But as per my experience if you take IELTS exam then this is really going to be best for you.

Both exams are equal. The difference is TOEFL is an online exam, and if you are familiar with key board typing you will find it easy. IELTS you have to write the exam manually by hand. Both the exams have same standard and you cannot tell one is easy.

Yes. You must practice "Complete the Words" (filling missing letters) and "Build a Sentence" (unscrambling words). Also, the Speaking section now has "Listen and Repeat" and "Take an Interview" tasks with no preparation time, replacing the old 2025 independent tasks.

Yes! Scores stay valid for 2 years. For a transition period (2026–2028), your score report will show both the new 1.0–6.0 band and a comparable 0–120 score. This helps universities compare your results fairly during the switch.
