Which is best among microbiology and biotechnology?

Both courses have their own importance. Bachelors in Microbiology particularly focuses on specific subjects like microbiology, biochemistry etc. Whereas Bachelor's in biotechnology covers number of fields like food biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, genetic engineering, plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, Analytical techniques & bioinformatics etc. Therefore, the job opportunities are more after B.Sc. In Biotechnology. Hence, to gain expertise in such emerging field, one must remain updated and have theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the subjects. In my views, the best college of Biotechnology in my area is PCTE College of Biotechnology situated in Ludhiana. PCTE provides practical exposure and interaction with various experts from academia as well as industry delegates. The placement record of PCTE is 100%. The Industrial visits conducted by PCTE College of Biotechnology helps the students to see and understand the subjects in detail while reading from books. So, according to me, if anyone is interested in getting into research or industrial jobs, one can opt for graduation in Biotechnology.
