Hello Dayon Raju, B.Pharma is a 4 year Bachelor programme that is the undergraduate level in Pharmacy and builds a base for wide range of topics in industrial, clinical and community setting. D.Pharma or Diploma in Pharmacy (not to be confused with Pharma. D) is a 2 year Diploma programme and provides the minimum qualification required to become a practicing pharmacist in India. Firstly, you should not be confused between D.Pharm and Pharma.D.
Actually, D.Pharm stands for Diploma in pharmacy which is a 2-year course and Pharma.D is a doctorate in pharmacy. So there is no comparison between them.
B.Pharmacy is a 4 years degree course.
B.Pharmacy and D.Pharmacy both have there own importance. You can take direct admission in the 2nd year of B.Pharmacy after D.Pharmacy. -
Both D-Pharmacy and B-Pharmacy courses are having good careers. But D-Pharmacy is a Diploma course and B-Pharmacy is a Bachelors course.
Soon after the completion of D-Pharmacy the candidates will go for B-Pharmacy and then to M-Pharmacy. But B-Pharmacy candidates directly go to M-Pharmacy.
The duration of D-Pharmacy course is just 2 years and for these candidates the duration of B-Pharmacy is 3 years. These candidates will join as lateral entry scheme.
Hence it will take 5 years for these candidates to complete B-Pharmacy. But the advantage what they get is they are going to get a diploma certificate.
