HI Vinayak, there are colleges who are having mentor ship program to help students select the specialization in the 2nd year based on the individuals performance, there skill set & the strength of the student. One of such college in Ahmedabad is Shanti Business School. Another college which is good in ahmedabad is Amrut Mody. Both this colleges are having eminent faculties with good academic and industry experience and also with good placement records.

You don't have to select a major from the date of joining. You have to select it after a year of general MBA. So I suggest you should wait and see our placement scenario and then you may select any one of them.
Companies for marketing profile do come in more numbers compared to finance but who offers more package is irrelevant.
You should choose any one of them based upon your area of interest. Blindly following statistical data in this matter is nothing but bad criteria for decision making.
