Which is better: B.Tech in Computer Engineering from Nirma university or B.Tech in Information and Communication Technology from DA-IICT?

B.Tech in ICT is one of the two branches offered in DAIICT and every year, the cutoffs for ICT branch are very high. Computer Engineering offered in NIRMA University is also a good course. Course Outline:- In terms of course tough, the approach is pretty different in both the institutes, in DAIICT, unlike any other college, students have to start studying courses of basic coding and languages like C and Java from the first year itself. While NIRMA course structure contains some basic engineering courses in the first year. Also, Course of DAIICT is a mix of core courses of CS, IT and EC branch, thus expanding the domain of study and jobs. Faculty:- Both the colleges have good faculty. But remember the courses are different, read about the details of each course before going for any one. College Infrastructure:- Both the colleges have good classrooms, library, and various academic buildings but NIRMA does not provide hostel facility to the undergraduate students. Placement:- Students from both the streams appear for the placement drive together that includes series of tests and interview rounds that check overall technical knowledge of students. The placements tests and rounds of interviews depend from company to company. The placements offered in DAIICT overall are pretty good and the tech giants coming to recruit students include all the Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies like Amazon, Sprinkler, Morgan Stanley, Directi, Endurance International, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Teal Labs, Juniper Computer Networks, Practo ,Oracle, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Qualcomm, Kivi, etc. The highest package offered during a placement season is around Rs 25-30 lakh. In 2017, the highest salary package given to student was Rs 27 lakh. Also, most of the students appearing for the recruitment drive get placed, out of 300 students appearing, around 250+ students get placed.

DA-IICT is certainly better than Nirma, its just that Nirma is very old as compared to DA-IICT and so more people from Gujarat and other places know about Nirma but yes, DA-IICT could not stage a meteoric rise either as envisioned by its founders. As an DA-IICT alumnus, I can brag about all the freedom and a nice campus culture which is missing in Nirma. Since I don't know about the quality of teaching staff in Nirma, I can't comment on that. Going by the admissions, there is no management or NRI quota in DA-IICT as opposed to Nirma where 15% seats are filled under NRI quota. Placements at DA-IICT are definitely better than the other institute in question and students at DA-IICT are generally good coders although they have not yet achieved the reputation of being at par to those at BITS or IIIT-H (here I'm not even mentioning IITs because simply said, DA-IICT is nowhere close to IITs by any standards. Also, it can be compared with BITS Goa and Hyderabad to some extent as both the campuses are fairly new but it might not stand before Pilani. IIIT-H is also a much more reputed institute but DA-IICT is catching up). Having said all that, from what I have heard, I fear that next year onwards, DA-IICT might resemble any other Gujarat University campus as the past trends have shown a gradual increase in the number of Gujarat state students in the college. Its not that it is a bad thing from academic point of view but it is definitely a disappointing trend for overall personality development that happens when you mingle with people from all across the places. Overall, I might be biased but still in general, DA-IICT is better than Nirma.

B.Tech in information and communication technology from DA-IICT is better as it is ranked higher and also has better job opportunities. It will also ensure better work exposure as they have specialisation in a particular field. B.Tech in computer technology from nirma university is not bad but when you compare it with DA-IICT, the later is better option. If you are able to get an admission in DA-IICT you should definitely take there. Boarding facilities are also better there than nirma university. In nirma you will get a better faculty support. Recruiting companies are almost similar in both the colleges. It then depends on you what to chose between the two.

DAIICT is the best college in all the colleges you have mentioned above as this college is best in terms of placements and also this college has the best faculty in comparison of all these colleges.

DA-IICT is far much better than the Nirma University. There is no comparison between these 2 colleges. DAIICT is the best college in all the terms i.e. placement, infra, faculty, etc.

Hi, Talking about the courses, B.Tech in computer engineering and B.Tech in information and communication technology are among the best and top rated courses of engineering field. Both are related to computer science. But computer engineering deals with the hardware and software and related field of computer science where as information and communication technology deals with only software and communication technology related to computer science. So now you decide that in which course are you interested? Talking about the craze and popularity, both are best but information and communication Technology is better than computer engineering in terms of further studies and placement and salaries. Very much higher percentage are required for this courses. But the ranking and cuttoffs of DAIICT is bit higher than Nirma University. Both Institute's campus are the best and eco-friendly. In DAIICT, all the students have to compulsorily stay in the hostel where as in Nirma University it is up to you. Kindly visit the official website of these institutes for detailed information.
