Chitkara university is better. As per 2018 surveys Chitkara has been ranked 1 in Chandigarh and 2nd in North zone. It has good placement.

Chandigarh University is the best choice for your career. It is the way to your success via your educational status as well as your other activities in NCC, sports, dancing, theater and all curriculum. The best university for the placement and quality growth of the students.

Some time it is a bit harder to compare these two universities because both have their individual strong platforms. At the level of placement both have a nice track record. On the basis of admission more or less both are on same level. But if we talk about the statistics given by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018 Chitkara University has ranking in the slot 150-200 in India for engineering, but NIRF didn't mention Chandigarh University upto 200 rank.
