Which is better doing MCA after completing BCA (6 years) or BCA+MCA dual degree (5 years) and why?

BCA-MCA Dual Degree is a 5-year programme designed to meet the changing requirements of the IT sector and to produce computer professionals who are ready to be deployed in IT companies. It gives students a unique advantage of obtaining a graduate cum post-graduate degree in Computer Applications in the span of 5 years after completion of their higher secondary education. Student who discontinues the studies after 3 years of successful instructions are eligible for award of Bachelors degree in Computer Applications (BCA), at the end of 5 years study student are eligible for Masters degree in Computer Applications (MCA). On the criteria of learning, there is no extra advantage of 5 years dual degree programme vs six years regular BCA-MCA programme. Student save one year in dual degree programme.

However in dual degree course student get struck to one college and misses out opportunities to do MCA from top rank universities. If student selection of institute is not good for dual degree program then they will compromise on their career and may find difficult to get placement.
