IIT Kharagpur is the best for pursuing B.Tech Civil over IIT Mumbai. So prefer to IIT KGP for Civil Engineering.

The B.Tech in civil engineering at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay is equally good.
1. Raking: In the 2022 rankings, IIT Kharagpur is ranked fifth, while IIT Bombay is ranked third by NIRF.
2. Fees: Both institutions charge about Rs. 8 Lacs as their course fee for B.Tech CE. However, the hostel fee at IIT Bombay is 2.8 Lacs, compared to 1.32 Lacs at IIT Kharagpur.
3. Facilities: Both universities have amazing facilities. The hostel and campus at IIT Bombay are better and more student-friendly than those at IIT Kharagpur.
4. Popularity: The CE branch of IIT K is more popular than IIT B.
