    Whether BHU is better or KGMU for MBBS, here are some pointers that will help you decided which university to choose.

    IMS BHU has a lower number of MBBS seats (00) compared to KGMU Lucknow (250), allowing for more clinical exposure and hands-on experience per student at IMS BHU

    IMS BHU has an internal quota for students from Banaras Hindu University, giving them an advantage in admissions

     KGMU Lucknow does not have any such state quota. 

    The campus and facilities at IMS BHU are located within the main BHU campus, which is considered more beautiful and well-maintained compared to the KGMU Lucknow campus

    Full-time MBBS courses are offered by KGMU and BHU, with 250 and 100 seats available at each university overall. Applicants can compare the two universities according to their rankings, total costs, and MBBS in the following table:

Yes, hostel facilities are available for both girls and boys at King George's Medical College. There are a total of 21 hostels, with 9 for boys and 10 for girls, with 2 common girls' and boys' hostels. The hostelers are afforded with plenty of amenities such as sports facilities with dedicated courts for basketball, badminton, table tennis, etc. Students also have access to a reading room, a well-maintained gymnasium, a computer centre with 40 working stations and 4 canteens scattered around the campus.

The KGMU central library remains open all days of the week. From Monday to Saturday, the timings are from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Sundays, the library is operative from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is completely closed on public holidays such as on Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Holi, Eid-ul-Fitr, Dusshera and Deepawali. 

The library also consists of a reading room, open from 9:00 am for the whole day and closing at 6:00 am the next day.

Yes, King George's Medical College does offer a library facility to its students. It has a collection of 44,862 books, 29876 bound volumes, 3883 print theses and 1316 DVDs / CDs. The library operates on the software KOHA and uses OPAC-SOUL software so that students can access the digital database of the library.  It is subscribed to 194 print journals, 4410 e-journals and 4273 e-books, providing the students and faculty with plenty and the best resources. The library also consists of a reading room with a cafeteria right next to it.

Yes, KGMU offers hostel facilities to its students. Candidates from general category are required to pay INR 48,100 (With Hostel charges) and 43,200 (Without Hostel charges). However, OBC/ SC/ ST category students are required to pay INR 42100 (With Hostel charges) and INR 37200 (Without Hostel charges).
