    Mechanical engineering yields some similarities, the biggest difference between the two careers is what professionals in the field engineer. A civil engineer helps design and create buildings, infrastructure, and other large-scale structural projects. The professional life is much, much different between the two. But if you must know, mechanical engineering is more difficult. The core classes use higher-level maths far more than in civil engineering.     You can opt for anyone which interests you. As per the current scenario, mechanical will give some extra edge over civil engineering and also, with less competition as compared to civil. Go through the link to know more about the programs:

    Mechanical engineering is an evergreen core branch of engineering. It has withstood all market and cyclic changes. Its job opportunities are very high since last 5 decades. In my opinion it has more opportunities in comparison to civil engineering.
