Mechanical engineering is an evergreen core branch of engineering. It has withstood all market and cyclic changes. Its job opportunities are very high since last 5 decades. In my opinion it has more opportunities in comparison to civil engineering.

You can get into Indian Engineering Services, all government services job where eligibility criteria is graduation degree, Defence Services, Paramilitary forces, PSUs, etc.
