The rankings of IIT Pune and IIT Kottayam are different. IIT Pune is ranked 6th out of 100 in the engineering college and IIT Kottayam is ranked 47th according to NIRF ranking and IIT Pune come among top 50 college in the country while IIT Kottayam come among 20 indias top engineering college. In terms of placements, IIIT Pune performed slightly better than IIIT Kottayam. The average package received during IIIT Pune placements 2025 was INR 17.12 LPA. On the other hand, IIIT Kottayam average package in 2025 was INR 11.91 LPA.
