Hello! Though both are considered equivalent in India, an MBA obviously has more recognition than PGDM. However, it's the college offering it which matters more. For example, a PGDM from an elite B-school is anyday more valuable than an MBA from an average one.

JIMS is a very good institute, it has the brand name in the market, yes you must be looking for a regular course at JIMS but if you want to do distance learning PGDM course from JIMS then its cost would be very less around INR 100,000.

Both are good but PGDM has latest course in comparison to MBA whose course is same for years. In some colleges PGDM is also equivalent to MBA.

    Dear Akhil,
Both MBA and PGDM are good but before taking admission you can go through the course curriculum because different colleges have different curriculum. So you can choose the course which will help you get a job in your choice of field.
    Thank you.

    Dear Akhil,
I will say PGDM as MBA has specific subject from many past years that syllabus is followed by the colleges but in PGDM syllabus change according to the market and corporate demand. Here you will understand all the things deeply. So at the time of placement recruiter knows that PGDM students must be aware of the market trends so the chances are high.

Only Universities provide an affiliated MBA program & PGDM is provided by institutes & also recognized by AICTE.
So MBA is much better than PGDM.
