Dear Pritimaya, To be very specific, HTML is a Web Design to design a Website. However on the other part PHP is a Open Course language developed by free lancers, which runs Server side scripts too. HTML on other doesn't run and server side scripting without a IIS.

First of all, understand purpose of both. HTML is for presentation. what you see in webpage or in email, all are html.
PHP or any server side language is helpful to build page content ( like adding - dynamic menu, interact with database , web services ).
