Which is better, QA or tester?

Quality assurance is more concerned with product life cycle management and ensuring that software meets defined quality standards or customer agreements. Testing, on the other hand, may keep an eye on the processes and often own them but is far more concerned with finding ways to break the software. Quality assurance is applied to the process, not the product but software testing applies to the product.
