    Hello Tarun, NIT at Calicut writes s pretty old institution and has a reputation of good academics as well as placements. On the other hand IIT at Dhanbad is not that old in IIT fold. But this too has great reputation. My vote would be on CSE at Calicut rather than mechanical at Dhanbad. Be that as it may, my strong advise would be to select the branch that interests you the most.     Both have their own importance and as per my suggestion, it is IIT Dhanbad. But getting admission to these institutions is very difficult therefore you can go to Chandigarh University.
