Seats are allocated on the basis of merit scores of last qualifying exam. All candidates have to fill an application form on the official website of institute. The institute shortlists students on the basis of merit scores. Selected students have to pay some fee to confirm their admissions.

NMIT Bangalore has mentioned age limit for only BSc (Hons) programme. Aspirants must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the admission year to apply for BSc (Hons) course.

NMIT Bangalore reserves 2% seats for candidates with JEE Main score of at least 75. JEE category aspirants are eigible for Merit Scholarship seats, provided they score a minimum of 85 NTA score and not less than 80% aggregate in PCM in Class 12. The ranking is based on JEE Main NTA score.

Candidates must score at least 90% aggregate in PCM in Class 12 in first attempt and have NUCAT score of more than 65 to get seat under tuition fee waiver category at NMIT Bangalore. Students must also have annual family income less than INR 8 Lacs for admission under this category.
