    Shams@ hi priyanshu,
Merchant navy is really a spontaneous and good job to do.
every study holds a scope and necessity.merchant navy as well do so .if you are interested and want to serve nation being a merchant navy its good for you.
Always remember any job you do with interest and hard work will give you success.
    Best of luck.

Dear Priyanshu, unique and good scope are reserved for the best and hard working people. Are you the one? However, its true that as mechanical or automobile engineer one will earn much less than a merchant navy engineer. The flip side is, you have to be medically fit and course is costly compared to B.tech. Another thing is you have to be away from country on high sea for months together and family life is quite disturbed.

If Merchant Navy clicks you will earn high salaries, but with less living comfort and risk involved. For a multitude of job prospects, B Tech is better. Merchant Navy course seems to be tuned to their requirements, with less prospects in other sectors.
