    Mechanical, electrical and computer science are evergreen branches. Electronics and communication is bit a hybrid as most IT companies favors ECE students more after CS/IT students. Civil is good for those interested in designing and planning of structures.
    Electronics and instrumentation is favorable for those with interest in electronics and control systems of manufacturing plants or turbines. Robotics is a growing career option still untapped in India, it needs both ECE and EI. From past 15 years, CSE is being the first choice of students and still the trend is same. Placements also reflects the same.
