Which is the best branch of engineering, chemical or mechanical engineering?
I want to get a good job in Gujarat.

It depends on your field of interest. Both the branches are good but nowadays more number of students are choosing mechanical engineering rather than chemical. -
Opting mechanical would be a better choice. You will be eligible for more inter-disciplinary fields like civil, electrical, electronics, chemical, agriculture, metallurgy, automobile, etc. posts in both, government and private sectors.
