Which is the best branch of engineering, mechanical engineering or IT?

its depend on u
if u want job quick after B.Tech and loves to work in computer then go for IT
otherwise.if u love to work on machine and robotics then must go for mechanical.and IT salary is much better than of mechanical guy

Both of these fields are good and it depends on you and your area of interest.If you like machines go for Mechanical engineering or else go for IT.
But I recommend you to take IT, as it is more promising career than mechanical and also it will offer you more package. -
both are good sector. you can pursue one of those.
