For CLAT 2026 PG (LLM), candidates must have completed an LL.B. or equivalent degree (3-year or 5-year) from a recognised university. General/OBC/PwD/NRI candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks, while SC/ST candidates require at least 45% marks. Final-year LL.B. students can also apply provisionally, but must provide proof of completion at the time of admission. There is no upper age limit for CLAT PG. Note that some NLUs may have additional criteria such as specialisation requirements, so candidates must check individual NLU guidelines.

If you don't accept the allotted seat within the stipulated time in CLAT 2026 counselling, your seat will be forfeited, and you may be excluded from further rounds. Also, if you fail to pay the counselling fee or upload documents, your candidature will be considered withdrawn. While some spot rounds may be held later depending on vacant seats, they are not guaranteed. Hence, it is crucial to actively respond during each round to retain your chances of NLU admission.

Yes, the CLAT 2026 result is valid for admission to 22 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) for their 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programmes, except NLU Delhi, which conducts its own entrance exam — AILET. Additionally, several private universities and affiliated law colleges also accept CLAT scores for admission. However, each institute may have its own cut-off, seat matrix, and eligibility requirements. The CLAT score is valid only for one academic year (2026–27) and cannot be carried forward.
