Dear Abhi, I have no knowledge of the CSE at SBIM. But being alumni of LPU, I can share the details of the CSE at LPU. I have also done my MBA from LPU and one of my friend's younger brothers is studying over there in B.Tech CSE. There are some points I would like to share about why CSE is good for LPU. Good Placement: LPU has a good placement record for CSE students. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package availed for CSE is 42 lacs. Per annum by Microsoft. Scholarships: LPU provides scholarships to bright students every year worth crore rupees to all the students based on their academics, extracurricular activities, and other factors. Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from IITs, NITs, Iims, and top-ranked universities all over the world. Tie-ups: B.Tech in CSE has tie-ups with industries which helps students to explore themselves more in their field. Specializations: CSE students get many specializations while studying CSE to enhance their knowledge according to their interests such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Science, etc. Apart from this, many opportunities and scholarships are there in LPU while studying for bright students in academics and extracurricular activities. LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department has been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Honestly speaking, the quality of education provided at any of the universities in India has been standardized by the autonomous body called University Grants Commission (UGC). It is just a matter of public opinion that sometimes condemns a university while over-hyping another. Of course, few other factors, such as the university intake of good candidates and the output of taught, trained, and efficient candidates who get successful placements during the course of the past couple of years, matter, of course, but lets get to that a while later. In regards to the stream concentric study of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Lovely Professional University, it is undoubtedly a very good idea. The faculty at the CSE department of LPU is just as qualified as any of the popular universities and institutes of India that offer this discipline names I don't even need to say! It has produced perfectly efficient computer engineers in the past couple of years who have eventually landed salary packages as high as 28 LPA! Over the past couple of years, the department has seen a rise in the number of students taking admission in the stream. Due to this, the competition between students within the department has increased, and this has indirectly improved the overall performances of the batch as a whole. Without mentioning unrealistic figures, I am going to say that the students graduating from the CSE branch at LPU get placed more often than any other department from the same university. Not everyone gets placements in a core company, but they will get placed in companies functioning in various other fields. Don't be disheartened. It is a great opportunity for the engineering graduates, as a job in any field (better, if related to technology) will in the long run help you grab work experience, which in turn will lead you to have your dream career with your dream package Any engineering stream will make you qualified enough for good jobs.
