Before becoming the MIT School of Education and Research, the Vishwashanti Gurukul Teachers Training Academy was its previous name. The college is currently a component college of the MIT Art, Design, and Technology University, having formerly been associated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University [SPPU]. This teacher training academy provides science, education, and other streams with UG, PG, and PhD studies.
