Which is the best course from a B.Tech, ME or CE?

I keep on getting this kind of query everyday as if this is a widespread dilemma. Simple and straight answer has 2 parts. It purely depends on what kind of interest, aptitude, attitude, hobbies, bent of mind, personality traits, passions and aspirations you have. Both these fields have immense opportunities for right kind of people respectively. Just answer few questions to yourself: What did you want learn from your degree? What will the degree enable you to do? Which college/university did you do it from? You can write down your answers and match these to your interests and passion and voila! You have your answer. The more pertinent question is, where do I do my degree from? You must know the parameters on which to compare. Some are mentioned as follows: Curricula : The course curricula of any tech degree must be very unique and dynamic. It must be developed with extensive consultations with industry. Only then it can be made sure that students learn the exact skills which are required by Industry, thus improving the employability Soft skills and professionalism: There must be a dedicated effort by college/university in continuous improvement of personality, soft skills, professional ethics, interview skills, public speaking, presentation style development etc. In students. These are must for placements as well as performance in the jobs. Exposure : The students must be exposed to large number of guest lectures and talks by industry experts, large number of events in university to enhance their organizing and networking kills, large number of social work initiatives to develop the right orientation. And many more. Entrepreneurship opportunities: The college/university must have innovation labs, business incubator, design thinking labs and SEED capital facility by management so that students can explore entrepreneurship as a career. Placements: The coveted outcome ! The campus must have solid track record of attracting good number of employers to recruit the talented students. There are quite a few among Indian colleges and universities like IITs, BITs, VIT, PEC, Thapar, LPU etc. Who have done exceptionally well in these parameters. Conclusion: You choose your specialisation according to your interest as both are good and have ample opportunities and choose your college/university even more carefully. Your university choice will go a long way into your career, go only for the top ones like mentioned above.
