I think engineering because you will have many options after engineering.

1) Each and Every course has their special benifits, it only depends, what we want to become
2) if want to become scientist, do Science core courses.
3) do diploma/B.Tech/MCA, to become engineer
4) doing M.Sc, further u need M.Tech/PhD to become engr/scientist

I think, Engineering in software designing is the best you can do to have high chances of placement.

You will have much more chances and have more opportunities of getting placements after completing B.Sc and M.Sc as nowadays companies have changed their taste and they are looking for such students.

Both are related to science and technology, but both are different in terms of placement and also doing job is depend on interest and passion.
B.Sc + M.Sc will make you eligible to get a job as JRF, research field education line, while BE or B.Tech will make you eligible to get a job

All the courses have different job opportunity but on the basis of numbers engineering is the best course in terms of placement.

Ofcourse it will be engineering because private colleges got alot of placement opportunities from there. Every year different associates, firms and other areas hire students doing engineering.
