Both are English Language tests, there is no such thing as better. However, check the entry requirements of the university to see which one you need to apply for.

There is no such best exam, it depends on which country you want to go for studies and which university. PTE is less accepted exam in foreign universities. If you are planning to go Canada or Australia go for IELTS. PTE is accepted in some colleges of UK, Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand.

There is no best! There are 2 different exams to test your English language skills. PTE - Computed Based Test
IELTS - Paper-based test. They both have 4 different sections Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. So you can choose one which you feel comfortable, Typing on a computer or writing on paper, Speaking into a mic or speaking in person. I wrote both, able to score the highest score in both, I. e. score required to get 20 points for language. I personally felt PTE was much better for me.

IELTS or PTE: Do I have a strange accent? If you were raised in Pakistan but then moved to Australia and then moved to the UK you may want to think about doing the IELTS because the human examiner will be able to understand your accent better. Of course, if you speak clearly then you can take either tests, but if, for some reason, you are failing your PTE speaking and scoring low on oral fluency you want to consider MS IELTS classes as she has had a lot better experience listening to strange accents. IELTS or PTE: Do I need my results quickly? If you need your results quickly then take the PTE. There turnaround on test results is impre

Hi Syed, there can be no answer as to which one is best since both are accepted by the universities abroad. If you ask about popularity, obviously IELTS is more popular among both of them.
