It depends on individual's interest and other factors like, your field of graduation and your career prospects. Major disciplines in MBA, you can look for are as follows: 1. Operations: It needs analytical knowledge with fair hands-on mathematics. 2. Finance: It needs basic knowledge of accounting and share, equity, credit-debit transactions. 3. Marketing: It deals with the promotion and advertising strategy to convince the target customers for your product. 4. HR: It requires good communication skills to deal with your team. You need to get the best out of your team and keep them motivated. 5. Mass communication: If you are interested in media and mass communication and have good speaking skills.

It's a function of what you want to do in the future and where your interest lies. A lot of Engineers do an MBA to change their careers and get into a different function such as: 1. Marketing. 2. Product Management. 3. Business Development. 4. Human Resources, etc. across diverse industries. So, figure out what are you interested in and accordingly choose your area of specialization.
