Which is the best IIT for mechanical engineering?

    When you say "best" it could be best in terms of environment and infrastructure of the mechanical engineering branch or it could mean best in terms of campus recruitment drive.
    As far as former is concerned, all the old IITs are more or less same. Bombay, Kharagpur and Kanpur are considered better in terms of faculty and labs. (Opinion)
    And
    In terms of placements as who bags the highest package, it varies every year and depends on the student himself. (Don't keep this as your criteria. But still if you do then look for the one who will be on top after 4 years).

    1. IIT Roorkee
    2. IIT Delhi
    3. IIT Bombay
    4. IIT Kharagpur
