Mechanical Engineering is a highly dynamic programme, it requires the university/college to upgrade its curriculum as per industry which changes really fast. Very few universities have recognised this and developed the systems to inculcate this important point. Only LPU and to some extent Thapar and PEC in northern part of India have been able to do it. There is no parameter in which LPU can be beaten by any other private university, usually I compare on parameters such as:
    1. Industry consulted curriculum
    2. Teaching pedagogy
    3. Centers of excellence
    4. Professional etiquette
    5. Student and faculty diversity

Hi Nomanjee, Both are private universities, and all of them are trying their best to get their students placed. But the placement require large number of other things apart from calling the companies and setting up the interviews. The University needs to have the latest and industry consulted curriculum. The technologies like SAP, advance excel, GitHub and other MOOCs are required to have the edge above other students
The entrepreneurship projects, innovation labs, design thinking labs and business incubators etc. Are must to expose the students to real time situations and problem solving skills. Professional enhancement is must for stu

    Hello!
Without any doubt I would say LPU is way better than CU for engineering all branches. I have done my engineering from LPU can confidently say that LPU has experienced faculty members, well-equipped labs, great infrastructure, excellent placements and complete training and placement assistance. Now talking specifically about Mechanical engineering, I had many friends in this branch and almost all of them were placed via campus placements, that too in core companies. Few of the major highlights of this course are :
LPU is ranked as the best engineering college in India. LPU leaped over most IITs and NITs and reached 2nd position in

I've had a really good experience with the mechanical engineering faculty at Chandigarh University. Most of them are PhD holders, so you can tell they know their subject inside out. What I like is that they're not just teaching from books—they share real-world examples, guide us in labs, and help with projects. The faculty is approachable, so if you ever get stuck on something, you can just ask, and they'll explain patiently. They also encourage students to explore electives like Thermal & Energy Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or Design & Robotics, and help you pick what suits your career goals.

Plus, with all the collab

Yes, Chandigarh University is a good choice for B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. What I really like about the programme is the variety of specializations you can pick, like Thermal & Energy, Industrial Manufacturing & Management, or Automation & Robotics. The labs are another strong point from 3D printing and advanced welding labs to industry-backed centres by Honda, Mahindra, Hyundai, and MG Motors. These collaborations give you hands-on exposure that feels very close to real-world industry work. On top of that, the department is both ABET and NBA accredited, which adds global recognition. With regular industrial visits, workshops, and
