For mathematics, practice is very important. And for that, you need to have a strong base and the formulae on your fingertips. For that, NCERT books would be useful at the early stage. Then, you may prefer the Arihant series for practice which would contain the questions of JEE standard. Tata Mcgraw Hill is another useful book which is preferred for many competitive exams. Using these books, you can perform well in the math section of JEE. All the best. -

The best books without any doubt for the preparation are of NCERT. These are simply superb. But then maths is the best learnt from a tutor rather than from books.

No, Manipal Institute of Technology does not take into consideration, JEE Main scores. It is only through Manipal Entrance Test (MET) that students are strictly admitted. In MIT, candidates have to register and undergo MET and then only they are allotted a BTech seat.
