Mechanical engineering is known as an evergreen branch of engineering. There has been no major changes in its scope and opportunities for last 6 decades.

Currently, CSE has edge over Mechanical engineering in respect with jobs. But, this may change soon. Indian IT industry has started showing early sign of decline, because of outcry against outsourcing in Western countries.
