IIT Madras is top BSc college in India according to NIRF for the year 2023 under the Overall category. Identified as an ‘Institute of Eminence', the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical and research university. It is the third IIT to be set up by the Government of India and is autonomous in nature. Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the IIT Madras campus is home to India’s first university-based research park- IITMR.
