Hi It is difficult to put together a list since every college would have some specialization and some weakness. For e.g. take NID. Well, NID does offer a course in animation design. It also has courses in communication/ new media. Although NID has not yet acknowledged the fields of 3D, VFX and gaming in their teaching. It would be a good course to learn pre-production theory. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in UI design, graphic design, storyboarding, animation design, game design, 3D modelling, texturing and lighting, dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). Of course at the top of the pile lies concept designing, these people are required by event companies, animation studios, VFX Studios, and of course game studios. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Go speak to people over there and see if you like their philosophy and they change your perspective. Try their website for more details. Also remember that animation requires good mentoring.
