Which is tougher to crack: UCEED or AIFD CAT?

There is no doubt that UCEED is much tougher than AIFD CAT. The topics you should prepare for the UCEED are: 1-Visualization and spatial ability: pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test, understanding of the transformation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their relationships, knowledge of practical and everyday mechanical and scientific concepts. 2-Observation and design sensitivity: an ability to detect concealed properties in ordinary things. Applying attention to certain details, analysing, reasoning, classifying, inferring and predicting. 3- Environmental & social awareness: general awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources, etc. , and their implication on the design of products, images, infrastructure and environment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with design& history 4 -Analytical and logical reasoning. 5-Language and creativity ability: To understand and use standard English. Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar such as sentence structure and usage. 6-Design thinking and problem-solving: the ability to use visual analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols. Ability to understand complexity, identify a problem, generate alternatives, evaluate options and select solutions. About examination pattern: There will be one question paper of three hours duration. The question paper will be in English only. It will be administered through a computer-based test. The question paper will carry a total 300 marks and it will be divided into three sections. Section A: Numerical Answer Type NAT questions. For these questions, an answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices will be shown for these questions. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks. There is no negative marking for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks. Section B: multiple select questions (MSQ). Each MSQ has one or more correct answers out of the four given choices. The candidate gets 4 marks only if all the correct choices and no wrong choices are selected. There are no negative or partial marks for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks. Section C: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one is the correct answer. There is negative marking for this section. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks.

I would say UCEED exam is much tougher than AIFD CAT. The syllabus and pattern of UCEED exam is quite complicated and elaborate as compared to AIFD CAT. The AIFD CAT entrance exam is like any other general aptitude test comprising of 4 sections namely quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, English language and General awareness. UCEED on the other hand is more comprehensive and includes more sections to judge your creative ability. Apart from the general aptitude, UCEED question paper has more sections like Visualization and spatial ability, Observation and design sensitivity, Design thinking and problem solving capability test. In order to prepare well for the exam, you must follow the below mentioned preparation tips: 1. Practice your drawing and sketching skills: More than 30% of the topics in CEED exam depends on your sketching work. Sketching level for CEED should be at least average. 2. Practice your mathematical geometry: UCEED question paper is framed to mainly check an aspirants mathematical aptitude. For the same, the paper comprises of geometry type questions that can assess a person's imaginative powers, observation skills, creativity and lateral thinking. 3. Observation and visualization skills need to be sharpened: Start observing things around you and enhance your imagination and visualization ability. 4. Pay attention to abstract tests: Preparing for questions that can help in assessing abstract, mechanical and mathematical aptitude can be of great help for aspirants appearing in UCEED exams. 5. General Aptitude: Brush up your English language skills, analytical ability and social/environmental awareness for this section. 6. Practice previous year's question papers as much as you can. This will give you a good understanding about the exam and help you prepare well for it.
