There are various job avenues which are open for a student once he/she completed graduation in journalism - but only when it is accompanied by a post graduate degree in the same subject (except in exceptional cases - where one gets job soon after graduation). The jobs that are open to a candidate after completion of graduation/post graduation in journalism include: Reporters (in TV/print), copy editors (in TV/print/online), video editors, audio editors, producers, directors, newspaper designers, cartoonists, event managers, radio jockeys, TV anchors, director of photography, fashion/wildlife/print photographers, script writers (for TV/radio), actors, models, teachers (after qualifying NET/Completing Ph.D), social media editors, voice modulators (for animated movies), video camera person, screenplay writers. Also, you can work in PR agencies, advertising agencies and even corporate communication department of various private/government agencies.

As a Mass Communication graduate I can honestly say there are several paths you can take with the broad knowledge you'll gain. Choosing the right internship and the right minor will help you go far in any of the following career paths. Advertising, Broadcasting (TV/Radio/Web), Journalism (Newspaper/Online), Public Relations, Marketing, Publishing, Film, and any other subcategories from these. It is best to figure out as early in your college career as possible which area(s) you are most interested in or passionate about. You can then cater your minor to fit that area and seek an internship that will help you get a foot in the door for when you graduate. Even if you do not get a job specifically in an agency or large company there are smaller companies who need the skills of a Communication graduate. Oil companies, law firms, government businesses, event companies, etc. all look for those who can use the skills gained from this type of degree.
