It depends upon your B-school preference, both the exams are unique and considered important. If you're targeting NMIMS (Mumbai and other campuses), XIMB, Amity University, etc., then you need to give the NMAT exam. Presently, CMAT is conducted only once a year.

NMAT & CMAT both have their own importance. NMAT ofcourse gets you a GDPI with NMIMS. But even CMAT has it is own importance if NMAT option doesn't work. CMAT is accepted by Great Lakes, IFMR, GIM etc. Not only this, you can even use your CMAT score to get admission to Maharashtra colleges through D
