Since you have 5 years IT experience, it is going to be difficult to shift to finance. Finance companies mostly look for people with relevant experience or freshers.
If you are really interested in finance then I suggest you go for 2 year MBA program and also do some certifications such as CFA level 1,2 etc. this will increase your chance of getting shortlisted by finance companies.

We do MBA not only to gain knowledge but to get enough industrial exposure and practice. As you have 5 years of work experience, you are already got enough industrial exposure and practice. Now it is pointless to go for a 2 year MBA if a one year MBA could give you the same or higher career growth that a 2 year MBA could give.
So, don't waste your one year. I am suggesting you to go for one year MBA program at a reputed institute in India or abroad.

    The user recommends following institutes
    Indian School of Business, Hyderabad
Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai
S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai

A regular MBA is of 2 year duration. For higher education prospects, you must pursue a regular MBA. One year MBA may be an Executive MBA for those employed seeking career advancement.
