Which MBA will be more suitable for me?

I'm a 28-year old working professional with 5-years of banking experience in a PSU bank, 8.11 CGPA in graduation and 90.8% in +2. How will my profile be viewed when considered for general MBA? Will my experience be a detriment for me? Also, which colleges are likely to view my profile favorably?

Given the experience you have in banks, you can try the same in the Finance department in MBA. If you are interested in interaction with people and you are good at communicating with others, you can opt for Marketing.

    Hello,
It depends on your graduation background as well as your interest but currently marketing is best specialisation. You can consider Balaji Institute of Morden Management for MBA. It's been ranked 12th in India, 6th in Maharashtra and 3rd in Pune according to Times B School survey 2018. Average package is 6.5 lacs and the highest is 14 lacs.

    Hi Krishna,
Appreciated with your experience and your marks which you got. Yes, you can go with MBA in General Management, but as you said you have experience in Banking, then I would recommend for MBA in Finance Management or MBA in Banking Management. MBA in General Management is good, but it's a basic MBA. MBA in Banking and MBA in Finance will be a good option according to me. You work in a Bank so you can't resign it. So, you should go for distance learning colleges like:
    1. Amity University
    2. Annamalai University
    3. ICFAI University

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
