Delhi Technological University and Birla Institute of Technology both are the best engineering colleges of India and both of them rank in top 10 lists of engineering colleges of India. But according to me BE in mechanical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology is much better than B.Tech from Delhi Technological University because of the following reasons 1. Infrastructure of Birla Institute of Technology is much better than infrastructure of Delhi Technological University. 2. Faculty provided by Birla Institute of Technology is much better than the faculty of Delhi Technological University because of experience and knowledge. 3. Facilities provided by Birla Institute of Technology to mechanical engineering students are much better than the facilities provided by Delhi Technological University to mechanical engineering students. 4. Birla Institute of Technology provide funds and encourages it students to take part in mechanical engineering related competitions. 5. Placements: In BITS Pilani- Average package offered by the companies is about 8-10 LPA. Highest package offered is about 34 LPA. In DTU- Average package offered by the companies is about 7-8 LPA.

B.Tech in ME from DTU is better option then BITS Pilani as DTU is more cheaper then BITS and both holds same placements records. Moreover here are some more info about DTU Placements : Placements are good. 6 LPA is the average salary offered with 37 LPA being the maximum in research and development. From this year, PSUs like BELL, IOCL, HPCL, etc. started visiting and 90% students were placed. Also, many students cleared GRE and got into esteemed colleges like CMU, Oxford, and Stanford. Als, students cleared GATE with about 10 people appearing in top 100. Infrastructure : The infrastructure is beautiful and better than any other college in Delhi. Also, there is sports complex having fields for cricket, football, lawn tennis, basketball, kabaddi, indoor complex and fully equipped gym. Our college has an auditorium, open-air theatre, wind testing lab, and hostel facilities. From 2k15 batch, our college has started CGPA system, which is better than what was followed earlier but it will take time to get fully used to it. DTU is one of the prestigious state govt. college located in Delhi. Every year, around 1500 students pass out from DTU from different departments. DTU is famous for its Computer science, electronic and communication and mechanical engineering branch. Here in DTU, faculty members are from IITs, NITs and DTU itself. Mechanical branch is the branch in DTU that is more focused for its betterment in every aspect. The Students work in different tech teams. There are around 9-12 tech teams of mech and automotive department that works on development of their respective vehicles so that they can win a place in competition. Also, DTU has its own lab for mech and automotive engineers called CASRAE where one can indulge in research work to publish a research paper that has an advantage if you are looking for MS. Mechanical placement in DTU is not that bad with highest of 70 LPA offered by a German company and average of 3-5 LPA. Cant say anything about BITS Pilani. Both are well-known engineering colleges in India but BITS-Pilani beats DTU in many factors. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, BITS-Pilani ranks 16th while DTU ranks much lower at 39th position. Even if BITS-Pilani is a private university, it is still considered equivalent to some IITs and top NITs. Generally speaking, both the colleges have good placements and all. B.Tech from BITS Pilani is of highest repute and students receive some great offers more than 50lacs by Schlumberger, Shell and Rio Tinto for mechanical branch. Major roles included Procurement Analysis, Logistics management, Production planning, Strategic quality management. Average salaries range from 9-12 LPA and median lies at 15 LPA. Moreover, students receive gigantic offers in Internship with stipend of 1lac at times and added advantage of PPOs for mechanical branch. For DTU, the statistics unfold as below. Placements are excellent, especially for the tech ones. Directi, Fedex, DHL were some of the companies which visited the campus for Mechanical branch. The highest package was for a person in Fedex who got a whopping 25 lakhs. A decent percentage of students were placed being the highest one, although the average offers and PPOs were less. The faculty is great but doesn't match the aura and experience of BITS Pilani. At BITS Pilani, Infrastructure and Amenities are just above the roof and beyond imagination. Making it anytime best alternative to DTU and any other college in India.
