Which of these is better: B.Tech in CSE from IIT Delhi or BE (Hons.) in CSE from BITS-Pilani?

In my opinion, IIT Delhi is better for B.Tech in CSE than BITS Pilani because IIT Delhi provides good infrastructure, good course curriculum, good CSE faculty members and good computer labs also.

If you compare on the basis of placements of CSE, then IITD somehow outperformance BITS-Pilani. Here is quick comparison between two. However, to study in an IIT is more prestigious than ant other colleges, so IIT Delhi is somehow more reputed. Computer science engineering at IIT, Delhi is really appreciated and has great ROI. 100 percent placements recorded year on year for CSE. Placement scenario is as follows:- 1) Total offers: 223 2) Average package is Rs 11 LPA, the median package is Rs 15 LPA and the highest package is Rs 95 LPA offered by Facebook. Majority of the software giants and finance consulting companies from silicon valley come here, be it Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Adobe, Visa, IBM or Goldman Sachs, Softbank, World Bank, Tower Research and McKinsey and a lot more hire from the college for Indian and International roles like software developer, business intelligence, analysts, consultants, project managers and program managers profiles. Well doing B.Tech from IIT Delhi is the best option because: Placements: Placements were good as always with 100% placements, but the highest and lowest salaries were not disclosed by the placement cell of IIT. Companies like Snapdeal, Bidgley, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs visited the campus. Internships were also offered to almost all the students of the department. I have heard of a stipend of 2 lacs per month, which was the highest here. Infrastructure: We have a Wi-Fi in all the common areas. And a LAN facility is available in the hostel rooms from 6 AM to 1 AM. But we have a limited use of Internet, which is 10 GB per week. We have a fully equipped 24-hour working hospital. The labs and classrooms are world-class and fully air-conditioned with well-equipped features for projecting slides or playing the video lectures. The sports, games and co-curricular activities are given a lot of importance here, and the canteen food and hostel rooms are good. No-infrastructure relate issues here. Faculty: The faculty members at IITD are very good. They are super knowledgeable and well-qualified. All kinds of teaching methods like projecting slides, playing videos and writing on boards are used. But, the industry exposure is little less than expected. The curriculum is very well-planned and is very useful for the overall development of a student. Other: The annual technical and cultural fests here are splendid. In the technical fest &quot;Tryst&quot;, world-class professors and technicians are invited. And the cultural fest &quot;Rendezvous&quot; is the biggest college fest in north India, with many stars like Vishal and Shekhar, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Arijit Singh performing in the fest in the last few years. No doubt BITS Pilani is one of the best engineering colleges of India but when it comes to comparison between BITS Pilani and IIT, Delhi and that too for the same branch, I will place IIT, Delhi on top. Placement wise both are similar but somewhere getting marksheet of a prestigious IIT will be a different thing. Computer science branch in both the colleges is a dream branch for every JEE aspirant. IIT, Delhi always features its name in top 3 engineering colleges of the country. Both the colleges have 100% placements. Fee structure in Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences is bit higher as compared to IIT, Delhi. Infrastructure is better in IIT Delhi. Location wise also Delhi has edge over Pilani. If I have to choose one, then I would choose IIT, Delhi for CSE. Companies like Amazon, Facebook, Google, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, etc. visits both the colleges.

I'll start from IIT Delhi. The course outline of computer science here is quite well aligned with the course structure of top ranked international universities and is definitely one of the well-structured courses in the IITs as it is pretty evident by the placements or the students' selection for MS-PhD and even entrepreneurship options. The facilities provided by the computer science department is really well apt and is definitely parallel to the international standards. Speaking about the infrastructure facility in IITD the 350-acre campus is located in South Delhi and is very close to the international airport and various railway stations and is well equipped with all the facilities and necessities required and is comparatively very green and clean than the outer Delhi. The placements of the CS here are very good and almost 80-90% of the people who sit in placements get desired placement. Coming to Computer Science at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus), it's QS ranking falls under the range of 800-1000 which is way behind in compared to that of IIT Delhi (185), the course structure may be the same, but the rankings and the statistics and the standard of alumni standing make it pretty clear that what could be the better option. There may be one or two placements that might go better than those from IIT Delhi but the average placement; be it in jobs or universities, IIT Delhi leads BITS by huge numbers.
