Which of these is better: B.Tech in CSE from VIT University or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from MIT Manipal?

Computer Science and Engineering from UPES is one of the best in the country, and far better than mechanical engineering from MIT. I know this because I am an alumnus of UPES and have been placed in one of the top MNCs with a really good package. The best part is their faculty, industrial visits and specialised programs with support from best tech giants in the world.

Hello Students, It's never a good idea to compare apples and oranges, but then perhaps user indeed desires to know which one is better. Yes, indeed, but better from what perspective? Colour? Taste? Medicinal properties? Easy availability? Price? Now, if these and many more such variables could be found in a simple item like apple & orange, I am sure there will be much more complex issues at stake while comparing two different courses of two well known educational institutions. Having said this, I will still take the plunge and try to find answers. VIT as well as Manipal are very well known institutes in academic circles. This means that their faculty is good, facilities are as desired, exposures of students to industries, etc., are more than what many other institutions offer. Students have a choice of seeking admission based on the common entrance exam, but it has been observed that both these colleges are able to attract a reasonable number of students who are in the top percentiles. This, in turn, makes it easier for faculty members to teach and in turn helps students get better grading and of course placement. CSE from VIT as well as Mechanical from Manipal, students from both these places have obtained very good to fantastic placements in the past and I am sure this trend will continue in future also.

B.Tech in mechanical engineering from MIT, Maipal. Manipal University, Jaipur isn't bad for mechanical engineering.

VIT is good in my view. Placements: If good placement is your goal, you should know that all good private engineering colleges in India helps you to get an average offer of more or less 3.5 Lacs in IT sector. So does VIT. Also students with good CGPA and descent profile get placed in the top e-commerce companies like Flipkart and ebay to the leading networking firms like CISCO with dream offers of more than 10 Lacs. Internship: Many firms also come to recruit final year students for internship which offers job based on their performance during the period. These include firms like Amazon. Studies: Like any other private college, the studies are just fine here. It is not very difficult to score good marks in VIT. Facilities: VIT is well known for its infrastructure and facilities whether it be equipped labs or the colossal library. All the best anyway.

Mechanical engineering, any day. It's a traditional engineering branch that has promising career options. MIT is far ahead of VIT in terms of faculty and placement. Also, the campus is cool and is situated in the hills. I'd suggest you go for mechanical engineering especially if you are interested in machines and a better career.

I don’t know much about Computer Science and Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology but I can tell you what Mechanical Engineering is from Manipal Institute of Technology. First of all, craze of Mechanical Engineering is increasing day by day. Secondly, it is very difficult to get a seat in good colleges for Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical branch of Manipal Institute of Technology is rated very high in India. Mechanical branch of Manipal offers SRF - Student Research Forum for students to go deep into concept and discover the hidden concepts in their areas of Interest. This makes them become good engineers. Apart from this, there are many student run projects which rated very high and are not available in many colleges in India. Projects like Formula Manipal - Racing car built by MIT students which won several prizes, Team Manipal Racing - an off road racing car, Solar Mobil - First 4 seater solar car in India to be launched this month only, and several others. According to Placement point of view, companies like Mercedes, Tata, etc. recruit students from MIT Manipal. Thanks.

Both the institutes are among the top when it comes to the teaching prospective and infrastructure. Also one of the most important factor is their establishment which is around 40 years, which make them come in the category of recognized and deemed universities, but there are many prospective by which an institution should be judged and to be chosen upon. When it comes to the tower structure of institutions Manipal leads with high marks. It has one of the best infra and well managed campus. Fee, here Manipal charges the highest fee among all the private college colleges in India and it follows a European culture. You have to spend a lot to match the standards of the students and peer. From that VIT is nice as it has very nominal fee. Academic and CSE environment, here Manipal leads as it has the best amongst the most skilled labs and placement scenario and industrial tie-ups. The VIT CSE average is 9 LPA whereas Manipal CSE average is 13 LPA. In all if you can pay a huge amount for fee then blindly go for Manipal else VIT is also good.

This comparison is totally invalid as you cannot compare two totally different branches. You must select the branch based on your passion and not on other factors. Once you have decided a particular branch and want to select between MIT or VIT then go for MIT Manipal. Go for Manipal University (main campus). MIT Manipal is known for its quality education. It has excellent infrastructure and faculties too. It is in top 50 ranks by National Institution ranking framework among the Indian Engineering colleges. Manipal has better placements for all the departments and almost 92 percent overall placements. Manipal has gained the respect of students through its performance throughout the years. On the other hand I think VIT is all about advertising. They just want to make profits. Whatever your rank in VITEEE you can get into CSE by paying more. It is like they are selling seats. Also infrastructure is not as good as Manipal. More reputed companies visit Manipal while VIT is about mass recruitment. Many reputed companies like Hyundai, General motors, Maruti Suzuki, Yamaha visited Manipal for recruiting. So, go for Manipal over VIT.

It depends on your interest whether you like mechanical engineering or computer science engineering. Mechanical engineering deals with the hardware or the machines whereas computer science deals with software all the programmes of the machines. Vellore Institute of Technology and Manipal Institute of Technology both of them are best private engineering colleges of India. According to me, computer science engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology is much better than mechanical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology because of the following reasons 1. Fee structure of mechanical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology is about 12.8 Lakh . Fee structure of Vellore Institute of Technology in Computer Science Engineering is about 7.8 Lakh . 2. Faculty of Vellore Institute of Technology is much more knowledgeable and experience than the faculty of Manipal Institute of Technology. 3. Facilities and environment provided to the students of computer science engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology is much better than the mechanical engineering students from Manipal Institute of Technology. 4.Placements In VIT, the average package offered by the companies is about 6.5 Lakh per annum and the highest package offered is about 24 Lakh per annum. IN MIT, the average package offered by the companies is about 5 Lakh per annum and the highest package is about 18 Lakh per annum. Hope it helps.
