Dear Aspirant, Both have good placement but in the case of infrastructure and facility, LPU is better than any other University. Computer Science engineering offered by both these colleges have different courses but the baseline of computer Science engineering course is the same, it all depends upon the practical knowledge given to the students of computer Science engineering. Both these colleges are known for their great infrastructure, faculty members and facilities provided by them like Wi-Fi labs with better equipment and machines. So there is not much of a comparison between these colleges based on infrastructure, faculty members and facilities. Both the colleges claim to have 100% placements. I have heard about VIT a lot it's a good college. However, if you are looking for BE in Computer Engineering then you must go for Thapar University. Very reputed visit this college for placement. Also, other things such as infrastructure, social life, and accommodation are amazing in this college.

Thapar Institute has recently been ranked as No.1 in computer Science department among other private universities this year. So, I feel it is obviously more beneficial for you to go to Thapar Institute if you want to do computer Science engineering.

According to my views and experience, VIT University is the best university for the CSE courses. In this university, you can get good placements. And, good companies come here for the placement cell. You can get good companies here for the placement. This college has good infrastructure and peaceful environment too.

Well, on comparison Thapar stands at the top for computer science. Students in Thapar are eligible for CS only if they score 180 or above in (JEE Mains). VIT and Manipal take students through their entrance exams and do not reveal their placement data. Microsoft, Amazon, Wall Mart, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Snapdeal, Google, etc. come to Thapar to recruit. The dream package in Thapar is above 8 lacs. Average package is about 6-7 lacs. Also, you get the reputation of a 60-year-old college. There is no comparison between Thapar and VIT in any way. Thapar is better based on following factors- 1. The cut-off for CSE for Thapar is pretty high which dictates the quality of students getting into it. While VIT gives away admission to CSE just if you pay few more lakhs. 2. There are about 1000 seats in total for CSE in Vellore. So it is mostly about quantity and less about quality at VIT. 3. Most of my coaching professors warned us about VIT and said that college is only about advertisement and publicity and isn't that good as it claims to be.

Thapar University being among the 30 best colleges all over India is certainly a lot better than VIT University. Thapar University is a semi private university, having a low acceptance rate in comparison to VIT University. Also, the modes of accepting students for both the colleges are different, with the former accepting applications through JEE Mains exam and the latter using its own entrance examination as admission criteria. The faculty at Thapar University is a lot better than VIT University, where they help you to get an internship and would readily involve you in their research projects if they are working on one. The faculty at VIT University is also good but is a little less supportive. Coming to placements, Thapar University provides for an average placement of 7 to 8 lacs in computer science branch while VIT University manages to provide for an average placement of 5 to 6 lacs. Also, you get to pay a lot less at Thapar University for the college fees then what you would pay at VIT University. Any day, anytime, Thapar university is a lot better because of the above-stated reasons.

VIT, Vellore is a great brand in the engineering institute in the country in terms of Infrastructure, faculty, placement, Course structure, etc. It has been established as a pillar of great academicians and have developed itself into market leader in the engineering industry. Taking about the placement the companies like:-TCS, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, GENPACT, TECH-MAHINDRA, etc. are the companies visiting the campus for placement. The package can vary from about 6 lakhs per annum for computer science engineering as this is the most evergreen branch in engineering in today's scenario as growing areas are Mobile development, Web, data engineering, data analytics, software development, system engineering, etc. These fields are making their field to keep growing. So, it's the most demanded field. So, VIT gives you desired career if you have the ability to get good start. The highest package was 27 lakh offered by Amazon to the students of VIT, Vellore. Comparing with Thapar, it is also good college in North-India offering engineering degree with good placements but VIT is well older than Thapar. So, VIT is good.

VIT, Vellore is a great brand and known for its excellent placements assistance. It is the best in terms of class faculty and infrastructure for technology development and better than Thapar university. But the number of candidates from B.Tech CSE getting 6+LPA offer is a little difficult to answer. I don't have the exact figures but I can give you an approximation. So, companies that come to VIT are divided into three categories namely: Mass Recruiter: 3.2 - 3.4 LPA Dream Offer : 4 - 8 LPA Super Dream Offer : 10+ LPA In VIT, if you are an average student or maybe a little below average, you will end up with one of the Mass Recruiter Companies for sure. Now, coming back to the question, the average package for a CSE student is about 5 LPA - 5.5 LPA (Differs from year to year). But, if you are above average student you will definitely get a Dream Offer and that too somewhere around 6 - 7 LPA. The highest package this year was 27 LPA (Amazon). This year we had 800 students in CSE branch. Out of the total students who sat for the placements about 95% are placed. About 150 students got a Super Dream offer. And, I think about 60% of the students who sat for the placements got a Dream Offer, despite a downfall in the industry this year.
