Both PGDM and MBA are popular these days. The basic difference between the two is that MBA is offered by recognized universities whereas PGDM is post graduation offered by autonomous institutes. For example- IIMs, XLRI, BULMIM etc offer PGDM only whereas universities like Faculty of Management Studies offer MBA. There are leaps of differences between the curriculum prescribed for the two. An MBA will help in developing technical skills and business knowledge whereas a PGDM will prepare graduates for senior level positions in industry and paves the way for a strong corporate career. BULMIM offers PGDM which is equivalent MBA ,the course stands recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree of an Indian University for the purpose of Higher Education/Research.

Dear anshul , with a course in bulmim this problem of selecting PGDM or MBA is not an issue as The programme is full time, non-residential and comprises of six trimesters over a period of two years. The first three trimesters during the first year cover primarily core courses, and the second year mainly focuses on the elective specialisation courses along with a few value added courses. The successful students are awarded “Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)”.
