    A career in one field differs from a career in another. I am certain that I can respond to this question because I have experience in both scenarios. Both fields have tremendous promise, but how much you're willing to sacrifice will ultimately determine your success. As the majority of us choose to work in this business, there are some universal characteristics to being a Java developer; but, if you also have strong programming skills in other languages, you may thrive in this area and earn anything from a few thousand dollars to a few million dollars!     A career in one area isn't the same as a career in the other. I've been in both situations, therefore I'm certain I can answer this question. Both disciplines have enormous potential, but it all depends on how much you're ready to give up. There are certain universal aspects to being a Java developer, as most of us are choosing to work in this industry; but, if you have solid programming abilities in other languages as well, you may thrive in this field and make anywhere from a few thousand dollars to a few million dollars!     Java would lead to better opportunities. Its not about programming language, have a good hold in data structures and algorithms. It will help you in getting good offers.
