It depends on your choice. No branch in engineering is better than other. Every branch has its own value or we can say importance. So, the answer to your question, is what you choose. Civil or Computer Science. My suggestion is that you should choose the branch in which you have interest. You should be passionate about your subjects and branch. Don't choose what the people says. CSE has some Subjects like, Data Structures and Algorithms, C, C+, Java, Python, etc. programming languages, Microprocessors, Cloud Computing, Operating systems, etc. Civil Engineering has some Subjects like Surveying, Infrastructure Engineering, Fluid Mechanic...more

Dear Pawan, If you have interest in developing a new software/application with coding/programming then better you opt CSE (Computer Science Engineering). On the other hand, Civil engineers are taught how to design and construct the industries, transport systems, roads, buildings etc. Opportunity in both fields are enormous and totally depend on in-depth knowledge you gain in your field in the engineering time span. So don't compare, just follow your interest and you will do fine.

According to today's need CSE is in high demand in private sector or govt. sector. Their pay scale is very high too. On the other hand, civil engineering is also interesting, but in civil engineering, the high percentage of jobs are in govt. sector and less in private sector like JBL. So after your B.Tech, you have to take govt. tests for jobs. Govt. pay scale is less than the average pay scale of CSE if you graduate from a good college. But due to Modi's infrastructure improvement projects civil eng. jobs are increasing in future. But all of this come before your interest. Go behind your interest no matter in which stream you go.

It's up to your interest. If you don't have any knowledge about the courses, select the course according to your intermediate knowledge. Civil engineering basically includes topics like fiction. Computer science is completely a different one, but, it's easy to understand if you put your heart into it.
