Which one is better among Dalmia or NIT, Surathkal for CSE or IIT, Madras for chemical engineering?

    According to me, CSE has more scope than chemical. So you actually go for CSE in NITK instead of chemical. It also depends on your interests. Please don't choose a branch depending on the college. It's your branch in which you will build your career ahead, so choose wisely.

    If you are not particular on doing engineering in CSE, B.Tech at IIT, Chennai is a better option. Whatever people may say, NITs cannot match with name of legacy IITs.

Yes, COAP registration is mandatory for IIT Madras admissions done on the basis of GATE exam. The institute accepts GATE + COAP for both M.Tech and MA admissions. Any student choosing to register via GATE score at the institute must register on COAP portal as well.
